They are triggered by schedules or events (e.g., Slack messages, database changes, emails) and operate 24/7. The feature is exclusive to Business and Enterprise plans and moves to a credits-based add-on pricing model starting May 4, 2026. In May 2026, the product was extended via the Notion Developer Platform (Notion 3.5) with Workers, database sync, and an External Agent API.
