Amazon Bedrock is a fully managed, serverless cloud service from AWS that gives developers unified API access to foundation models from multiple providers (including Anthropic, Meta, Mistral AI, Amazon, OpenAI, DeepSeek). The service was announced in April 2023 and became generally available in September 2023; it now supports over 100 foundation models and serves more than 100,000 organizations. Bedrock includes additional capabilities such as Guardrails, Knowledge Bases (RAG), model fine-tuning, and the AgentCore agent framework. Billing is usage-based per input/output tokens processed, with no fixed base fee.
