Starmind is a project announced by SpaceX to build an orbital data center: satellites of the "AI1" series are meant to run AI inference hardware (Nvidia chips) directly in space. Each AI1 satellite is designed to carry, at its core, an optimized Nvidia Vera Rubin NVL72 compute system (72 Rubin GPUs, 36 Vera CPUs), powered by solar arrays and cooled via deployable liquid radiators in vacuum. The project was officially confirmed jointly with Nvidia on August 4, 2026 during SpaceX's first earnings call; no product pricing or an authoritative standalone manufacturer product page exists yet — a website circulating under the "Starmind" name turned out to be an unofficial crypto-token site unrelated to SpaceX.
