Imagine Image 2.0 (also known as Grok Imagine Image 2.0) is the text-to-image and image editing model from xAI (SpaceXAI), released on August 7, 2026. It is available as "Quality Mode" in Grok Imagine on web, iOS, and Android, focusing on precise, regional image editing (Magic Wand, segmentation, background removal), multi-reference editing with up to 5 images, and sharp typography in dense layouts. On the Arena Leaderboards (as of August 7, 2026), it initially ranked second in both text-to-image and image-edit rankings behind OpenAI's GPT-Image-2, but was later displaced to third place by Microsoft's MAI-Image-2.6. API access is available as "grok-imagine-image-2.0" and supports resolutions of 1K and 2K.
