Fugu Ultra v2 is the most powerful model in Sakana AI's Fugu product family. Rather than a single monolithic language model, it is a learned multi-agent orchestration system: a language model trained to delegate tasks to a fixed pool of open and specialized models while also recursively invoking its own instances. Released on September 11, 2026 alongside the more cost-efficient Fugu Max, it targets complex multi-step tasks such as Reasoning, autonomous research, and software development. It is available exclusively as a hosted API (no self-hosting, no open weights) and is not available in the EU/EEA according to the provider.
