The Knightscope K5 is an autonomous, wheeled-drive Autonomous Security Robot (ASR) made by US manufacturer Knightscope, designed for structured outdoor areas such as parking lots, corporate grounds, and walkways. The current fifth generation (K5v5) features 360° cameras with day, low-light, and night vision capabilities, thermal imaging, Lidar and sonar sensors, as well as license plate recognition, and is offered via a Machine-as-a-Service (MaaS)/Robot-as-a-Service (RaaS) subscription model that includes the cloud platform Knightscope Security Operations Center (KSOC). The robot patrols fully autonomously around the clock, returns independently to its charging station, and serves primarily for surveillance, anomaly detection, and deterrence without being armed.
