TREX is a beta feature of the AI code review tool Greptile that actually executes PR branches in an isolated sandbox instead of just reading code statically. In doing so, a TREX agent writes and launches targeted tests against the repository's services, dependencies, and framework, and attaches logs, screenshots, traces, scripts, or videos as evidence to the PR comment. According to Greptile's own analyses, review with TREX identifies approximately 20% more bugs than review alone. TREX was introduced on June 15, 2026, and is currently available in public beta status for all Greptile users.
