Axon Lightpost is a fixed ALPR (automatic license plate recognition) camera mounted on existing infrastructure (street lights), developed in partnership with Ubicquia. It combines automatic license plate recognition, vehicle attribute recognition (VAR), and live video streaming and is fully integrated into the Axon Fusus ecosystem for real-time dispatch centers. It is based on the Axis Q1800 camera platform with LTE connectivity via the Ubicquia UbiHub unit, and can be installed in under an hour without excavation work or new poles. The product was announced on April 22, 2025 at the annual Axon user conference.
