OpenWorker is an Open Source desktop AI agent by Andrew Ng and Rohit Prasad that runs locally on your computer and delivers finished work results instead of chat responses—such as documents, Slack messages, or updated calendar entries. The user describes a goal (e.g., "prepare for customer call"), whereupon the agent breaks down the task into steps and works across more than 25 integrated tools (Slack, Gmail, GitHub, Jira, Notion, and others) as well as local files before critical actions require confirmation. The product is model-agnostic (bring-your-own-API-Key or locally via Ollama), MIT-licensed, and is currently in open beta, primarily for macOS (Apple Silicon), with a Windows build that is not yet code-signed.
