Mistral Small is a family of Open Source language models from Mistral AI with 24 billion parameters, optimized for low latency and local deployment. The current version 3.2 (June 2025) improves upon 3.1 primarily in instruction following, function calls, and reduces repetitive outputs, while maintaining nearly unchanged core Benchmarks. The model is multimodal (text and image), supports a context window of 128,000 Token, and is provided free of charge under the open Apache 2.0 license for research and commercial use. It is available via Hugging Face, the Mistral API, and partners such as AWS, Ollama, and NVIDIA.
