Alexa+ is Amazon's generative-AI evolution of its voice assistant Alexa, announced in February 2025 and made broadly available across the US in February 2026. It uses a model-agnostic routing system on Amazon Bedrock that selects between Amazon's own Nova models and Anthropic's Claude depending on the task, offering natural conversation alongside agentic capabilities such as autonomously completing tasks (e.g., reservations, ticket purchases, ride bookings). The service is included free for Prime members, costs $19.99/month for non-members, and a free, limited chat version is available via Alexa.com and the Alexa app. Alexa+ runs on Echo devices, Fire TV, Fire tablets, in-browser (Alexa.com), and the Alexa app, with growing support on third-party devices (Samsung TVs, Bose speakers).
