Genie One is Databricks' agent-based AI coworker for business teams (marketing, sales, finance, HR), announced on June 16, 2026 at the Data + AI Summit. It connects structured and unstructured data both inside and outside the Databricks platform, going beyond conversational analytics: users can create documents, schedule tasks, set up alerts, and write to external systems via MCP tools. The contextual foundation is Genie Ontology, a self-improving knowledge graph that continuously extracts enterprise knowledge from tables, dashboards, chats, tickets, and meetings. Governance and access control are enforced end-to-end through Unity Catalog.
