Base One (also referred to as "Base 1") is the first proprietary large language model by Base44, a no-code app-building platform under Wix. It is a fine-tune on an existing open-source base model — not trained from scratch — optimized exclusively for building web applications via natural-language prompts. Training was conducted using reinforcement learning on a dataset derived from tens of millions of real user interactions on the Base44 platform. The model entered production on June 29, 2026, progressively replacing external frontier models such as Claude Sonnet 4, against which it claims competitive performance; no published benchmark comparisons exist.
