Gotcha is a free, Open Source AI Copilot for Android that runs entirely on-device and is developed by Samosa AI. Users control their smartphone via natural language through a floating interface ("Assistive Ball") and voice calls, with the app executing over 100 native device tools (contacts, SMS, calendar, smart home, Termux/Terminal, and more). The system is based on the Samosa AIR Engine (LLM, STT, TTS) and supports both local LLMs (e.g., Ollama, LM Studio, llama.cpp) and cloud models (Gemini, Groq, OpenAI). A tiered permission system with four security levels and two Copilot modes (inspection vs. action mode) are designed to ensure control and security.
