Blueberry is an internal, agentic AI system by Instacart for Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) that supports engineers' on-call processes. It monitors approximately 200 Slack channels, automatically detects relevant alarms, mentions, and threads, and posts well-informed root-cause hypotheses directly in Slack threads, typically within about three minutes of an alarm. The system is built on a "Reasoning-Harness" architecture with dynamic agent loops, Postgres-backed durable job queues, and an MCP tool catalog, trained on over 14 years of internal Instacart incident history. It is not an externally marketed product with its own pricing, but rather an internal engineering tool that is shared publicly primarily through the Instacart tech blog and conferences.
