CloudMatrix 384 (internal CM384, official name "Atlas 900 A3 SuperPoD") is a rack-scale AI Training and Inference system by Huawei Cloud that interconnects 384 Ascend-910C NPUs and 192 Kunpeng CPUs via a proprietary optical "Supernode" connection (Unified Bus/MatrixLink) into a single compute fabric. The system was announced in April 2025 and publicly presented at WAIC in Shanghai in July 2025; it positions itself as a Chinese alternative to Nvidia's GB200 NVL72 and is already being delivered to Chinese customers. Despite weaker individual chip performance, the overall system achieves higher compute power and memory capacity than its Nvidia competitor through its high chip count, albeit with significantly higher power consumption.
