Kolibri (Kolibri-1) is an open reasoning language model from the German company Aleph Alpha, released on October 3, 2026. It is a bilingual (German/English) Mixture-of-Experts model with 78.1 billion total parameters, of which only about 3.46 billion are active per token. The model supports a context window of up to 1,048,576 tokens, an explicit reasoning mode with four levels, and tool calling, and is available as open weights on Hugging Face under the Apache 2.0 license.
