Pi (also "Pi Agent" or "Pi Coding Agent") is an Open Source terminal coding agent framework developed by Mario Zechner (GitHub: badlogic) and managed by Earendil Inc. since April 2026. It is based on a minimalist core with just four base tools (read, write, edit, bash) and can be extended via TypeScript extensions, skills, prompt templates, and packages. The framework is provider-agnostic (BYOK) and supports over 15-20 LLM providers including Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, DeepSeek, and xAI. It also serves as the foundation for other agent projects such as OpenClaw.
