Open WebUI is a self-hosted, extensible web interface for interacting with local and cloud-based LLMs, originally launched as "Ollama WebUI". The software supports Ollama and OpenAI-compatible APIs and can be deployed via Docker, Kubernetes, pip, or Bare-Metal, with complete offline capability. Source code is available on GitHub and is licensed under multiple licenses (historically MIT/BSD-3-Clause, currently the "Open WebUI License" with branding clause); companies requiring rebranding have access to a paid Enterprise license. The project is developed by Open WebUI Inc. (founded by Timothy Jaeryang Baek) and releases new features weekly.
