Learned Hand is a proprietary generative AI platform purpose-built for courts, judges, and judicial staff (not for private law firms). The software distills large case files and motions, structures facts and legal issues using samples of a judge's own writing style, and drafts tentative rulings that judges must review and edit before adoption. Its signature feature, "Deep Verify," is a multi-pass verification process that hyperlinks every statement in generated output to underlying record evidence and case-law citations to prevent hallucinations. Founded in 2024 by former attorney and federal law clerk Shlomo Klapper, the company's tool is already used by courts in ten U.S. states, including the Michigan Supreme Court and the Los Angeles County Superior Court (pilot program).
