Udio is an AI-powered music generator that produces complete songs including vocals and instrumentation from text prompts. The platform was founded in December 2023 by former Google-DeepMind researchers and released publicly as a Beta in April 2024. Users can create songs, extend them via "Extend," remix them, and transfer specific voices to new songs using a Voice-Control function. Since 2024/2025, the product has been involved in multiple lawsuits by major music labels over alleged use of copyrighted training data, but has since signed licensing agreements with Universal Music Group and Warner Music Group.
