Bolt (also Bolt.new) is a browser-based AI agent by StackBlitz for creating full-stack web and mobile apps from natural language prompts. The product combines AI models (including Anthropic Claude) with StackBlitz's WebContainers technology, which runs a complete Node.js development environment directly in the browser. Bolt gives AI full control over the file system, terminal, package manager, and server, covering the entire app lifecycle from creation to deployment. The underlying Open Source codebase is available as "Bolt" or community fork "bolt.diy" under MIT license, while the hosted service bolt.new is a commercial Token-based SaaS product.
