Paperclip is an Open Source orchestration platform that structures teams of AI agents like a company with organizational charts, roles, budgets, and governance. The software was released in early March 2026 by pseudonymous developer @dotta and grew to over 74,000 GitHub stars within a few months. Technically, Paperclip consists of a Node.js server and a React interface with a PostgreSQL backend that coordinates existing agent runtimes such as Claude Code, OpenClaw, Codex, and Gemini via adapters. The project is MIT-licensed, fully self-hostable, and is also offered as an optional paid managed cloud service (Paperclip.inc).
