H3 Max is not a standalone MiniMax product, but a post-trained, speed-optimized variant of the open-source MiniMax H3 video model by fal.ai. fal took the open weights of MiniMax H3 and Fine-Tuned them with a focus on prompt adherence and aesthetics, combined with a proprietary Inference engine for very high throughput. Unlike the base model (up to 2K, reference features from image/video/audio), H3 Max is limited to text-to-video and image-to-video at a maximum of 768p, but achieves a multiple of the speed. MiniMax itself has never released a product under the name "H3 Max"; it is a derivative hosted exclusively on fal.
