Microsoft Copilot is a universal AI assistant product from Microsoft built on OpenAI models and integrated into Windows, Microsoft Edge, and Microsoft 365. It is not specialized for code development. For coding tasks, Microsoft offers GitHub Copilot instead. The product was introduced in 2023 as Bing Chat and later rebranded as Microsoft Copilot. The current version uses GPT-5 models.
