Krea 2 is Krea AI's first foundation image model built entirely from scratch, a Diffusion Transformer with roughly 12.9 billion parameters. It was announced on May 12, 2026, and focuses on aesthetic diversity, style transfer, and creative control rather than pure prompt adherence, including moodboards and a tunable "Creativity" parameter. The model ships as Krea 2 Raw (undistilled base checkpoint for fine-tuning) and Krea 2 Turbo (distilled variant for fast generation in about 2 seconds), openly available on Hugging Face under a community license, alongside API variants Krea 2 Medium and Krea 2 Large and access via Krea's subscription-based web platform.
