DeepSeek Harness (CLI command: dsh) is an open-source framework released by DeepSeek for building AI coding agents, available since August 13, 2026 as a developer preview under the MIT license on GitHub. It is powered by the "Cordis" meta-framework built around the idea that "everything is a plugin": models, tools, skills, sessions, sandboxes, filesystem, and UI are all swappable plugins. The tool serves as a direct, free alternative to Claude Code and is primarily run with DeepSeek's V4 models (V4-Pro, V4-Flash), though the plugin architecture allows model-agnostic use. It offers a web interface as well as a headless/CLI mode, and per the project documentation is still under active, rapidly changing development.
