Atlas is a fully electric humanoid robot from Boston Dynamics, developed as a production-ready commercial version for industrial material handling and automation. The robot was unveiled as a product version on January 5, 2026, at CES in Las Vegas during Hyundai's media event, replacing the hydraulic Atlas generation retired in April 2024. According to the official spec sheet, Atlas has 56 degrees of freedom, a 2.3 m reach, a payload capacity of 50 kg (instant) / 30 kg (sustained), an IP67 rating, and a self-swappable 4-hour battery system. All 2026 deployments are fully committed to Hyundai (Robotics Metaplant Application Center) and Google DeepMind, with productive use at Hyundai for parts sequencing planned by 2028.
