FLUX.2 [klein] is the fastest model family from Black Forest Labs (BFL) for text-to-image generation and image editing, released on January 15, 2026. The family comprises 4B and 9B parameter variants (each available as distilled and undistilled/Base versions) that run on consumer hardware and can generate or edit images in under one second. The 4B models are available under the Apache-2.0 license, the 9B models under the FLUX Non-Commercial License; both support multi-reference editing and resolutions up to 4 megapixels.
