Kimi K3 is Moonshot AI's (China) new flagship large language model, released on July 16, 2026. It is a Mixture-of-Experts model with roughly 2.8 trillion total parameters (16 of 896 experts active per token), a 1-million-token context window, and native visual input (text and images). The model is built on new Kimi Delta Attention and Attention Residuals architecture components and is offered via the Kimi API and Kimi Code as a proprietary hosted service; open weights were announced for July 27, 2026 but had not been published at research time.
