Tencent Yuanbao (元宝) is a consumer AI assistant by Tencent, officially launched on 30 May 2024 and powered by the company's proprietary Hunyuan large language model. It employs a dual-model strategy, letting users switch between Tencent's own Hunyuan models (T1 deep-reasoning, Turbo S fast-thinking) and externally integrated DeepSeek models (R1, V3). The app is fully free for end users and covers use cases including AI search, document analysis, image generation, voice chat, and agent creation. The underlying Hunyuan 2.0 generation (December 2025) uses a MoE architecture with 406 billion total parameters (32 billion active) and a 256 K-token context window.
