pplx-embed-v2-late is a family of late-interaction (ColBERT-style) embedding models from Perplexity for text, images and rendered document pages, released on October 7, 2026 in two sizes (0.6B edge model and 9B model). Both models share one embedding space and are available under the MIT license on Hugging Face. A hosted API is announced but was not yet live at release.
