Perplexity SPACE (Sandboxed Platform for Agentic Code Execution) is a sandbox infrastructure built by Perplexity AI to securely and efficiently run its "Perplexity Computer" agent. Each task executes inside its own Firecracker microVM with a separate operating system, fully isolating the host and other sandboxes. The platform supports pausing, resuming and forking sessions, retains file and memory snapshots for up to a week, and keeps credentials outside the sandbox at all times. SPACE is not a standalone consumer product with its own price tag but the internal runtime layer that has carried 100% of Perplexity Computer's traffic since June 2026.
