Pangram 4 (also "Pangram 4.0") is the current AI text detection model from Pangram Labs, released on July 29, 2026 as the successor to Pangram 3.3.2. It uses a Sparse Mixture-of-Experts language model as its backbone with multiple classification heads capable of distinguishing token-by-token between human, AI-assisted, and fully AI-generated text. According to the manufacturer, it achieves a false positive rate of 0.0041% (approximately 1 in 24,000 documents) and a false negative rate of 0.3396%, as well as an AUROC of 0.9916. The model is robust against "humanizer" tools and detects mixed human-AI text sentence-by-sentence, including transition points.
