Kimi K3 is the new flagship language model from Chinese lab Moonshot AI, released on July 16, 2026. It is a Mixture-of-Experts model with 2.8 trillion total parameters (896 experts, 16 active per Token), based on the newly developed Kimi-Delta-Attention architecture and features native image processing and a context window of up to 1 million Tokens. The model is currently available only via API and Kimi App; complete Open Source weights under a modified MIT license are scheduled to follow by July 27, 2026. In independent Benchmarks (Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index), K3 achieves a score of 57, positioning it just behind top models from Anthropic and OpenAI, but ahead of other Open Source Chinese models.
