Tesseract is a free video creative suite developed by Mirage (formerly Captions) that gives AI agents direct access to professional editing tools — including video layers, compositions, keyframes, masks, adjustment layers, timing, and sound. Rather than representing video through HTML/React, the agent works with native editing concepts, positioned as Premiere and After Effects rebuilt for agents rather than humans. The local engine runs free on macOS, Windows, and Linux (with local preview/rendering); users only pay for their own agent subscription. Tesseract was officially announced on September 22, 2026, and also powers the consumer app Captions.
