LM Studio Bionic is a standalone desktop app from LM Studio designed as an AI agent for Open Source models, supporting coding, document editing, research, and voice control. The app and local Inference are free; optional Cloud models (e.g. GLM 5.2, Kimi K2.7 Code, DeepSeek V4 Pro) are billed via prepaid Credits with Token pricing and run on "LM Studio Secure Cloud" with Zero Data Retention. Bionic organizes work in "Code" and "Work" projects with inline diffs, agentic code search, and voice transcription via local models (Voxtral). The software is closed-source (proprietary Electron app), in contrast to the MIT-licensed LM Studio Runtime core.
