Astra (officially "GPT-6 Astra") is the flagship language model released by OpenAI in September 2026, deployed in latent-space context for tasks such as answer extraction in the proprietary AEO-Tracker. It is designed for long-running agentic tasks such as coding, computer usage, research, and complex Reasoning, and features a context window of approximately 1 million Token. Access is provided in tiers through a Trusted Access Program as well as API, ChatGPT Plus/Pro/Business/Enterprise. The model is offered as a proprietary product via the OpenAI API (model name "gpt-6-astra") as well as through cloud partners such as Amazon Bedrock and Microsoft Foundry.
