Nano Banana 2 is Google's informal name for the Gemini 3.1 Flash Image model — the speed-optimized image generation model in Google DeepMind's Gemini 3 family. It generates images from text prompts at resolutions from 0.5K (512 px) up to 4K (4096 px) and supports image editing/inpainting. Access is available via the Gemini API (Google AI Studio) and Google Cloud Vertex AI Agent Platform. All generated images carry an invisible SynthID watermark.
