Earendil · v1.0 · 5× · last seen Oct 03, 2026
Pi 1.0 is the first stable release of the Open Source, minimalist Agent Harness from Earendil (previously developed by Mario Zechner, taken over by Earendil in 2026). The terminal-based tool allows connecting AI models with code, shell commands, and external tools, and was released on October 1, 2026. The central new feature is "Codemode," native support for the Model Context Protocol (MCP) as well as non-LLM models such as image models; in parallel, the experimental companion package "Pi Durable" was released for long-running, interruption-resistant agent applications. The product is MIT-licensed and free to use, with costs incurred only through connected model providers.
