Code Puppy is an open-source, terminal-based AI coding agent created by Michael Pfaffenberger, a Distinguished Engineer at Walmart. It lets developers write, edit, test, and manage code via natural-language instructions without being tied to a single AI provider. After going viral internally at Walmart, usage was later capped per employee due to unexpectedly high token costs. The project is publicly available on GitHub and installable via PyPI.
