Momentum
Pi is an Open Source, minimalist coding agent and agent harness that runs in the terminal, developed by Mario Zechner (badlogic, creator of libGDX) and now maintained by Earendil Inc. Rather than extensive functionality, Pi offers only four core tools (Read, Write, Edit, Bash) and delegates additional capabilities to a TypeScript extension system (Extensions, Skills, Prompt-Templates, Packages). The tool is provider-agnostic, supports over 15-20 LLM providers (including Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, xAI, Mistral, Groq), and requires no separate subscription since users bring their own API keys or existing provider subscriptions. The source code is freely available under MIT license, with no SaaS backend.
