Screenpipe is an Open Source Desktop application that continuously records screen content and audio locally, indexes them via OCR/Transkription, and creates a searchable history of computer activity. It serves as a context layer for AI agents (e.g., Claude, Cursor, ChatGPT) via an MCP server and a local REST-API. Processing is performed entirely locally on the device by default; optionally, cloud AI models (OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini) or local models via Ollama can be integrated. The company behind it is Mediar, Inc., founded in 2024 and part of Y Combinator (S26) since 2026.
