Sakana Namazu API is a Japanese-specialized language model API from Tokyo-based company Sakana AI, released on August 3, 2026. It is based on the Open Source Kimi K2.6 model from Moonshot AI and has been Fine-Tuned with proprietary data for Japanese language, culture, and business contexts. Additionally, a Tuning measure reduces unnecessary rejections and biases in outputs. The API is OpenAI-compatible (plus Anthropic Messages API) and provides integrated tools such as web search and code execution as well as image and file input.
