Portable Computer is a fully locally-running version of the agent platform "Perplexity Computer," developed by Perplexity in collaboration with Nvidia. The Orchestrator-LLM, Subagent-LLM, and Agent-Harness run entirely on your own hardware (Nvidia DGX Spark or Linux PCs with Nvidia RTX GPUs), with no cloud dependency and no Token or credit costs for locally executed tasks. When needed, users can escalate a single task to a more powerful cloud model with explicit approval, while sensitive documents remain on the device. The product is included in existing Perplexity subscriptions (Pro, Max, Enterprise Pro, Enterprise Max) and offers pre-integrated tools, connectors, and a sandboxed execution environment.
