Mojo is a programming language developed by Modular (founded by Chris Lattner and Tim Davis, part of Qualcomm since summer 2026) that combines Python-like syntax with low-level performance (comparable to C++/Rust) for CPUs, GPUs, and AI accelerators. Together with the MAX Serving Framework and Modular's cloud offering, Mojo forms the "Modular Platform" for LLM Inference and deployment, which provides an OpenAI-compatible API and supports hundreds of Open Source models. Since August 2026, Mojo version 1.0 is fully Open Source (Apache 2.0 with LLVM exceptions), while the MAX Serving Framework is separately available under a Modular Community License (source-available).
