Kimi K2 is an open-weight Mixture-of-Experts (MoE) language model by Moonshot AI (China), released on July 11, 2025. It has 1 trillion total parameters with 32 billion active parameters per token and was pre-trained on 15.5 trillion tokens. The model is specifically optimized for agentic tasks (tool use, autonomous problem-solving, coding) and achieves 65.8% pass@1 on SWE-bench Verified. Code and weights are released under a modified MIT license; the original Kimi K2 is text-only (no native vision input).
