GitLab Orbit is a knowledge graph that maps the entire software development lifecycle (SDLC) as a queryable graph database. The system enables AI agents to retrieve context across code, merge requests, pipelines, deployments, vulnerabilities, and ownership—rather than examining individual repositories in isolation. Orbit is delivered as an integrated feature within the GitLab platform and is currently in public beta.
