The Databricks Data Intelligence Platform is a cloud-based, unified data and AI platform built on a Lakehouse architecture that combines Data Engineering, Data Science, Machine Learning, and SQL Analytics. It runs natively on AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform and leverages an AI-powered "Data Intelligence Engine" (DatabricksIQ) for governance and optimization. Billing is usage-based through Databricks Units (DBUs), with additional separate costs from the respective cloud providers for compute, storage, and networking. The product was introduced in November 2023 as an evolution of the previous Databricks Lakehouse under the new name "Data Intelligence Platform."
