Momentum

Augment Code is a cloud-based AI coding platform delivered as a plugin for existing IDEs (VS Code, JetBrains, Vim/Neovim), a CLI (Auggie), and a cloud agent system (Cosmos). Its core is a proprietary Context Engine that indexes codebases of up to 400,000–500,000 files across multiple repositories in real time. The company was founded in 2022 and emerged from stealth in April 2024. A credit-based pricing model replaced message-based pricing in October 2025; the JetBrains plugin was sunset for non-enterprise customers on July 1, 2026, with Cosmos as the recommended replacement.
